The Business & Industrial Appreciation Day (BIAD) event has honored a Douglas County company each year since 1984, and is recognized as one of the largest and longest standing annual events of its type in greater Minnesota. Annually, one company from the region is selected as the BIAD recipient based upon the following factors:

- Impact on the Local Economy: How the business contributes to the economic growth of the area.
- Capital Investment: An indicator of the business’s commitment to enhancing community capacity.

2025 BIAD Recipient
Massman Companies has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Business & Industrial Appreciation Day award by the Boards of Directors of the Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission (AAEDC) and Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce (ALACC).
The BIAD luncheon will take place Monday, October 27 at The Grand Hall at Carlos Creek. Doors open at 11:30 am and the program will run 12-1 pm. This event will be a celebration of the success and growth of Massman Companies and their continued commitment and impact on the community. In addition to the luncheon, a publication focusing on the accomplishments of Massman Companies will also be distributed through the Echo Press prior to the event.
